Ordeal
What do you think of this video? I find it a bit bizarre, myself. Watching it too many times might be a bit of an "ordeal," actually. But anyway, at least we've learned a new word. Have you been through any ordeals lately? Exams at university, for instance? Post a comment. And yes, any native speaker would know this word, so go on and put it in a sentence.

I am in an ordeal right now because I have to read 1250 verses of Beowulf (medieval english poem) but in modern english of course.... so that's an ordeal for me.
ReplyDeleteDiana, why don't you watch the movie? :) just kidding.
ReplyDeleteFunny word... never heard before. Let me think of an ordeal situation. Well, hopefully I am not through an ordeal right now... but I remember to go through quite an ordeal every time I was in the examination period of the university. Bad times indeed.
Now, this is what I like to see - a little life on the blog!
ReplyDeleteI have to spend part of the Christmas holidays with my in-laws. That's going to be an ordeal! I hope my wife doesn't read this blog...

ReplyDeleteI want to see the movie but the problem is that in the exam I have to translate a little extract of the poem, which is actually another ordeal. And I've just realised that I have a lot of ordeals in my life lol
